What was supposed to be a quiet breakfast Friday morning turned into a round table discussion with "our man Mitch" over education and the Washington Redskins.
Mitch noticed my Redskins jacket and struck up conversation with us as he grew up a Redskins fan (this still doesn't make up for the year of our lives we lost due to stupid time zone sh*t). We chatted football for awhile until we got on the education topic...Avaree had heard a rumor that the Gov wanted to get rid of all half days of school (which she was NOT at all happy about) . Well, she got it straight from the horses mouth. He told Ava the importance of education and how half days are basically a waste of time. So, after a little more discussion Ava and our Governor came to terms and decided that half days would be tanked. Mitch thanked Avaree for talking with him and told her he sees big things in her future...Smartest thing he has said while in office!
Some kids go to Florida for spring break. My kid talks educational reform with the Governor.
